The HCNR200/201 high-linearity analog optocouplerconsists of a high-performance AlGaAs LED that illuminatestwo closely matched photodiodes. The input photodiodecan be used to monitor, and therefore stabilize,the light output of the LED. As a result, the non-linearityand drift characteristics of the LED can be virtually eliminated.

The output photodiode produces a photocur rentthat is linearly related to the light output of the LED. Theclose matching of the photo-diodes and advanced designof the package ensure the high linearity and stablegain characteristics of the opto coupler.

The HCNR200/201 can be used to isolate analog signalsin a wide variety of applications that require good stability,linearity, bandwidth and low cost. The HCNR200/201is very fl exible and, by appro priate design of the applicationcircuit, is capable of operating in many diff erentmodes, includ ing: unipolar/bipolar, ac/dc and inverting/non-inverting. The HCNR200/201 is an excellent solutionfor many analog isola tion problems.
