DESCRIPTION

The MP174A is a primary-side regulator thatprovides accurate constant voltage (CV)regulation without an opto-coupler. It supportsbuck, buck-boost, boost, and flyback topologies.It has an integrated 700V MOSFET to simplifythe structure and reduce costs. These featuresmake it an ideal regulator for off-line low powerapplications, such as home appliances andstandby power.The MP174A is a green-mode-operationregulator. Both the peak current and switchingfrequency decrease as the load decreases.This feature provides excellent efficiency at lightload and improves the overall averageefficiency.The MP174A has various protection features,including thermal shutdown (OTP), VCC undervoltage lockout (UVLO), over-load protection(OLP), short-circuit protection (SCP), and openloop detection.The MP174A is available in a small TSOT23-5package and SOIC8 package.
